Nine and Freakin’ Oh: The Aggies Keep Rolling, But 9-4 Still Lurks in the Shadows
Alright, let’s talk about it. The Texas A&M Aggies are 9 and freakin’ 0. Mike Elko’s bunch went up to Columbia, handled business, and walked out with another win, 38-17 over Missouri. It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t perfect. But it was controlled, confident, and everything we’ve been begging for out of Aggie football for a decade.
Marcel Reed did what he’s been doing all year, commanding the offense like a guy who’s been here for five seasons. Two touchdown passes, one on the run that looked straight out of a video game, and a couple of plays that reminded you why he’s sitting near the top of the Heisman boards. KC Concepcion and Mario Craver keep making life miserable for secondaries. They’re just flat-out mismatches.
The big uglies up front deserve some love too. They didn’t dominate like they did against Florida, but they controlled the line when it mattered. Missouri threw some tricky looks, but the Aggies stayed patient and wore them down. That’s Elko football. Tough, disciplined, and mean.
Reuben Owen’s really stepped up in the absence of Leveon Moss with 13 carries for 102 yards and 2 TDs. Lmao we have another one?!
Casius Howell was a heat-seeking missile again. The dude is everywhere. If Missouri tried to run between the tackles, Howell met them in the backfield. That front seven might be the most underrated group in college football.
But let’s be real. We’ve seen this movie before. 9-0 feels incredible, but around here, it doesn’t mean we’re safe. Not yet. We’ve been 8-1, we’ve been ranked high, and then we’ve tripped. Every Aggie fan over the age of 20 has the scars. Until this team hits win number 10, we’re all holding our breath. That’s the Aggie way — hopeful, proud, and terrified at the same time.
The mindset now has to be simple: We’re still 9-4 until we prove we’re not. That’s the standard. That’s the curse we have to kill. You don’t break the cycle with hype. You break it with one more win, one more drive, one more play when it gets hard.
Elko has this team believing, and you can feel it. Reed has the poise, the weapons are legit, the defense has teeth again, and the locker room looks unified. You can’t fake that.
But don’t let anyone start printing t-shirts or making playoff graphics yet. Save it. Earn it. Every Aggie knows how fragile this feeling is.
9-0. Top ten. Momentum. But still haunted by 9-4 until proven otherwise.
